Australia's worst Macca's named in a ranking of 1.4 million Google reviews

At the other end, McDonald's Melville in Myaree, Perth, is the best-rated Macca's in the country at 3.96 stars from 2,599 reviews, ahead of Haberfield in Sydney's inner west (3.94) and the restaurant at the BP service centre on the Pacific Motorway at Stapylton, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast (3.93).

The average Macca's in the ranking scores 3.29. Edens Crossing in Redbank Plains (1.96) and Berrinba (2.00), both in south east Queensland, are second and third from the bottom, followed by Brabham in Perth (2.00) and Chirnside Park in Melbourne (2.04). Westminster in Perth, Rhodes, Emerton and Yagoona in Sydney and Riverdale Village in Tarneit, Melbourne, complete the list.

The complaints at the bottom are mostly about waiting. "Stood at the counter to order. Was completely ignored. Ended up just leaving," one Edinburgh North customer wrote in early October 2026. A Berrinba reviewer warned: "Food here takes forever to come don’t go here if you are short of time." At Emerton, another said that if you order in a hurry, "You'll be able to receive it in the afterlife."

New South Wales has five of the 10 best-rated restaurants, including McDonald's Bondi Beach, seventh at 3.88, Gosford West, Yamba and St Ives. Two Queensland highway stops make the top 10, at Stapylton and on the southbound side at Caboolture, along with Larapinta in Brisbane and Pakenham South in Melbourne. One reviewer of the Caboolture restaurant wrote: "Food was hot. Wow that’s rare these days."

The ACT has the lowest-rated Macca's of any state or territory, with its 17 restaurants averaging 3.22, followed by Queensland (3.26) and Western Australia (3.26). The Northern Territory's eight restaurants score highest at 3.57, ahead of Tasmania (3.37).
