America's worst Pizza Hut named in a ranking of 2.1 million Google reviews
The Pizza Hut on Sunset Road in Charlotte, North Carolina, is the worst-rated in America, averaging 2.11 stars from 539 Google reviews, and 63% of its reviews give a single star.

Key findings
At the other end, the Pizza Hut on Lyons Avenue in Newark, New Jersey, is the best-rated in the country at 4.90 from 318 reviews, ahead of the one on US-82 in Indianola, Mississippi, at 4.85 from 189 reviews.
The average restaurant in the ranking scores 3.74. Charlotte has three of the 10 lowest-rated, with the ones on South Tryon Street (eighth, 2.55) and Prosperity Park Drive (10th, 2.58) joining Sunset Road, and three more are in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, in Richmond Heights (second, 2.37), Cleveland Heights (fourth, 2.41) and Euclid (sixth, 2.52). The others are on Andrews Drive in Denver (third, 2.41), on FM 1960 in Humble, Texas (fifth), on East Charleston Boulevard in Las Vegas (seventh) and on the Army base at Fort Irwin, California (ninth).
Mississippi has three restaurants in the top 10, in Indianola, Batesville (fourth, 4.83) and Ripley (sixth, 4.81). The others are in Highland, Illinois (third, 4.84), Laredo, Texas (fifth), Milford, Delaware (seventh), Sylvester, Georgia (eighth), Vero Beach, Florida (ninth), and West Monroe, Louisiana (10th). Arizona's Pizza Hut restaurants are the best-rated of any state on average at 4.02, followed by South Dakota and Mississippi (both 3.94), while Utah's are the lowest-rated at 3.33, followed by Colorado (3.41) and Nevada (3.42).

Method
How we did it
We used the DataForSEO Business Listings database to pull the Google Maps listings for Pizza Hut restaurants across the US with at least 50 reviews on October 7, 2026, 5,643 listings in all.
We kept the listings whose Google name starts with Pizza Hut and that Google files as a pizza or other restaurant. Closed restaurants, duplicate listings at the same street address and the Google listing for Pizza Hut's corporate office were left out, while delivery and carryout restaurants, Pizza Hut Express counters and restaurants on military bases were included. That left the 4,632 open restaurants with at least 100 Google reviews each, 2,125,050 reviews in all.
Each restaurant was ranked by its exact average rating, worked out from its count of one, two, three, four and five-star reviews rather than the rounded score Google displays, so restaurants that show the same rating on Google are still put in order. Where two restaurants have exactly the same average, the one with the larger share of one-star reviews ranks lower. Every restaurant named in the national and state lists was checked against its live Google listing on October 7, 2026.
Each state's average gives every one of its restaurants equal weight (the mean of the restaurant averages) and is shown for the 42 states with at least 10 restaurants in the ranking. Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington, D.C. have fewer than 10, so they are left out of the state ranking, but their best and worst rated restaurants are listed below.
