These are the 10 best and worst Starbucks stores in America, according to Google reviews

We used the DataForSEO Business Listings database to pull the Google Maps listings for Starbucks stores across the US with more than 49 reviews on October 7, 2026, 15,000 listings in all.

We kept the listings whose Google name starts with Starbucks and that Google files as a coffee shop, cafe or coffee store, plus the Starbucks Reserve roasteries. Closed stores, offices, warehouses, distribution centers and roasting plants were left out, as were exact duplicate listings, while licensed stores inside airports, supermarkets, Target stores, hotels and college campuses were included. That left the 11,580 open stores with at least 100 Google reviews each, 5,693,882 reviews in all.

Each store was ranked by its exact average rating, worked out from its count of one, two, three, four and five-star reviews rather than the rounded score Google displays, so stores that show the same rating on Google are still put in order. Where two stores have exactly the same average, the one with the larger share of one-star reviews ranks lower. Every store named in the national and state lists was checked against its live Google listing on October 7, 2026.

Each state's average gives every one of its stores equal weight (the mean of the store averages) and is shown for the 49 states with at least 10 stores in the ranking. Vermont has eight stores in the ranking and Washington, D.C. is not a state, so both are left out of the state ranking, but their best and worst rated stores are listed below.
