National, metro, and trade press do different jobs.
National outlets move domain authority and brand credibility, but they are the hardest to land and demand genuinely new data or a sharp angle. Metro press (regional dailies, city business journals) covers local employers, expansions, and state-level data cuts. Trade press is read by your actual buyers and often produces the fastest, most topically relevant links. A strong campaign mixes all three instead of chasing only household names.
